Three years after her last Le Guess Who? showcase, Brooklyn-based singer, composer, and producer Arooj Aftab is back as a performer and curator. Shortly after coming to Utrecht last, Aftab became the first Pakistani woman to win a GRAMMY, thanks to ‘Vulture Prince’. Her new record, ‘Night Reign’, sees her move elsewhere, this time composing an ode to night-time’s magic. These still moments allow us healing, desire, shelter, and love. ‘I want to make music with and for everyone’, says Arooj Aftab; Night Reign is that chance and its triumph. We’re welcome to join in.
