San Francisco-based artist Victoria Shen opposes signal and information through 'chaotic sound'. Her unconventional sonic havoc is carefully built with analog modular synthesizers, vinyl and resin records, and self-built electronics. In a live setting, even her own body becomes part of the journey. Recently, she has pioneered the use of Needle Nails (acrylic nails with embedded turntable styluses) which allow her to play up to 5 tracks at once. Besides touring the world, she currently teaches at Harvard University and the School of Visual Arts NY.
